For over a decade, the Holy Spirit has burned into my heart the desire to tell others about the forgotten calling of dying to self. It took me a while to understand what Jesus really meant when He said, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me (Luke 9:23 ESV). Yet, through my initial experience of becoming a Christian and the road God took me on since then, I have come to understand more clearly what Jesus asks of all of His followers, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with the radiant beauty of a life of victory over self. It costs everything but it is more than worth it! Jesus will forever be our greatest and noblest example of selflessness.
