“I can vividly remember one morning when I drove to my quiet place before the day began, and I couldn’t help but agonize over my lack of gentleness. God was slowly and patiently showing me the true beauty of humility and I wanted so much to possess it but it seemed like the hardest thing to achieve. We can never attain it on our own but God can work humility and gentleness in us as we surrender our will more and more to Christ. I cried out to God that day to help me discover this joy of living a life carrying the right burden. God heard my prayer and gave me the undeserved privilege of experiencing it. May all the glory be His! His yoke is easy to carry, it is not burdensome. It rather empowers us to carry the right burdens, to run after the things that weigh the most in God’s eyes. It is so freeing to live humbly. To be empowered to lay down your rights and to seek God’s glory and not your own. You can experience this rest!
