Man of suffering.

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; he was despised, and we didn’t value him. Isaiah 53:3
This verse is so rich with meaning! Isn’t it that when we are despised and rejected, we tend to think that nobody understands- not even God? Well, He does! This is precisely how he is described- unloved and unwelcomed. He knows suffering and sickness like no one else can. During His time on earth, Jesus was not valued by many, people were actually ashamed of Him. When we live for God and the world or worldly Christians don’t understand us and even despise us- we are in good company. Jesus is right there with us in those moments! Whatever the reason for our suffering- He understands completely because He experienced it.
A very touching post, thank you. It reminds me of the old hymn “Man of Sorrows” and the suffering our Lord faced for us.
Thank you
