Prepare your heart.

For this is what the Lord says to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: Break up the unplowed ground; do not sow among the thorns. Jeremiah 4:3

The soil of our hearts is deserted and hardened. We often think that it is God who changes our heart and forget that we also have an important part to play in the process. God wants us to prepare the soil of our heart so that the seed of His Word can fall on good ground. When our hearts are full of the thorns of unbelief and sin, the seed of truth cannot take root. That’s why we experience so much frustration when we have neglected our heart. We read the Bible and long to see it bring a change in us but we stay the same. Take a moment today to dig up the soil of your heart and God’s Word will be able to penetrate deeply.
