It is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. Lamentations 3:26
Sometimes in life it seems as if nothing is happening. We like to see something with our eyes so we can rest assured that God truly is at work. Yet, He is always at work- even when we don’t see anything happening. In this season of worldwide pandemic, it’s easy to think that the silence of God means abandonment. With God, things often move slow and He does require much waiting on our part. I’m sure you would agree. God wants us to wait quietly, without making any fuss. Quietness also shows trust and submission towards the One we are waiting for. When we wait quietly, we are also allowing God to act before we do. That’s why this verse says that it is good to wait quietly for salvation from God. It’s the only proper way of handling ourselves after we have prayed. It’s not the easiest way, but it is the right way.
