The arrogant will never apologize or say “I’m sorry”

He or she will never experience the joy of humbling oneself

The arrogant will never listen to someone with empathy,

He or she will gain the false illusion of ‘being right’

The arrogant will always preach but will never understand

He or she will never experience the joy of the ‘poor in spirit’

Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Matthew 23:12

We all want to be exalted but God is not speaking of an exaltation in our human terms

This question bears an answer: How can we be exalted if we are high and lifted up…? Where will God lift us up from?

But there is joy and overwhelming victory for the lowly,

He or she who is willing by God’s grace to humble oneself

Blessed is that person.
