The sacredness of the temple.

They spent the night in the vicinity of God’s temple, because they had guard duty and were in charge of opening it every morning. 1 Chronicles 9:27

In ancient times, people placed a high importance on the physical temple, but we are now privileged to understand that we are the temple. If they understood the sacredness of the temple then, how much more should we understand it now? When Christ makes His home inside of us, we become the sanctuary of His presence. We are called to guard the sacred in our lives by remaining true to the Holy Spirit’s inner workings in our hearts. We need to always be on guard, carefully guarding the sacred. Every new day is a chance to be still and invite God’s presence inside our temple. May we carefully guard it!
