A moment of stillness (9).

Don’t be disqualified.

but the word of the Lord came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for my name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before me.‘ 1 Chronicles 22:8

King David had it in his heart to build a house for God but He denied him that privilege. Even though David had a great heart for God, he was also a man of war because of the circumstances of his leadership. He knew violence and bloodshed. He took lives. I find it so interesting that God needed a man of peace to build the temple. Even though David made all the costly preparations for the temple, His son Solomon built it. God doesn’t compromise who He is. How often we give in to anger or live our lives in a way that doesn’t promote peace! God has a special assignment for those that have truly set themselves apart for Him according to His standards. Today, as you seek stillness, take a moment to ask God to help you be an instrument of His peace. You will experience His presence in a remarkable way!
