A moment of stillness (11).

More precious than gold.

“Now grant me wisdom and knowledge so that I may lead these people, for who can judge this great people of yours?” 2 Chronicles 1:10

The story of Solomon has always captivated me. The Bible says that God highly exalted him and made him very prosperous. God appeared to him one night and gave him the opportunity to ask anything of Him. Solomon asked for wisdom. In response, God promised to give him everything else as well. Just today, I was thinking how much need we have for wisdom because we have none of our own. God is generous in giving wisdom but we need to truly desire it and to ask for it. We cannot stay true to God’s calling on our lives without wisdom and the greatest pitfall is to try to rely on our own understanding. When we take a quiet moment each day to sit in silence with God, we will hear His voice saying the same to us, “Ask me anything.” May we ask for more of Him because in Him we will find the richest, most glorious wisdom.
