A moment of stillness (51).

The sacredness of God.

Let them praise your great and awe-inspiring name. He is holy. Psalm 99:3

With each passing year, the notion of sacredness becomes more and more faded. Sin becomes more and more tolerated. Christians look more and more like the world. God is, was, and will always be, holy. Nobody can change that. Anyone who wants to draw near to God must understand that he or she needs to put a high value on the sacred. The closer we draw to God, the more we desire to let go of sinfulness in any form. The praise this Psalm talks about is coming from a reverent heart. When we truly understand that God is holy, we will know how to truly worship Him. Any other image of God is not the real thing. It’s like burning incense to an idol. No wonder it is dead. God’s name alone inspires greatness and awe. Behold God for who He is today.
