A moment of stillness (55).

Quieted soul.

Instead, I have calmed and quieted my soul like a weaned child with its mother; my soul is like a weaned child. Psalm 131:2

The soul is rarely calm. It is often restless and chaotic. The world conditions us this way. The things of this world are never enough. To understand this verse, we need to look at the first verse of this Psalm. The writer started off saying that he is not arrogant and does not seek a high status. He was content with his portion from God. We are bombarded with the pressures of this world, especially as women. If we believe the lies around us we will never be content. The beauty of humility is that it quiets our soul. When we are still, God can speak to us and He is always enough. Calm your soul in His presence today. Because He is enough, you can be at rest.
