The incense of the soul.

May my prayer be set before you as incense, the raising of my hands as the evening offering. Psalm 141:2
Most people don’t pray anymore. Some do but often wonder quietly if their prayers are acceptable to God. Did you know that our prayer can be as pleasant incense before God? He always hears our prayers but He has certain preferences when it comes to our times of communing with Him. Think of it as a formula for making incense of the most beautiful aroma. God expects worship from us. That’s why this verse talks about the raising of our hands. Worship is hardest when it seems like you have nothing to worship God about but it is most necessary. God deserves our highest praise no matter what. Worship also frees us of ourselves. It is the right incense in our prayer burners. Let’s be the people that bring the right offering before God.
