You will not be ashamed.

Kings will be your guardians and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame. Isaiah 49:23

God’s nation suffered tremendous oppression because they rebelled against Him. Once God humbled them, the very nations that terrified them served them as slaves. Now they were the ones that would bow before them in fear. When we are humbled by God, we need to hope in Him, even when it seems that He has deserted us. In fact, He is busy working behind the scenes in those critical moments. God always exalts those He humbles but we would do well to humble ourselves. Take a moment to put your hope in Him today despite the discomfort! You will not be put to shame.
