Be humble.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at my word. Isaiah 66:2

I love how the two parts of this verse tie in together. Here is God, the one above it all, and here we are- the ones that should be humble. What is humility? Are we even able to define it in our modern times? This verse explains it- to be humble means to be submissive in spirit and to have respect for what God says. Humility is best tested in the fires of affliction. Will we submit to God’s work in us even when it’s completely against our will or will we resist God? May we be the ones God looks favorably upon.
