Journals of abiding (2)

Abiding in rest

I have to rest in trusting You, my Jesus for nothing in this world will so completely satisfy. You promise rest for me if I believe you, I pray that faith will always guide me closer to Your side. I rest in laying down my works, my ego. I rest today because you gave me rest upon that very cross on which you died. You said to cease from all my works and labors. Completely in this restful trust I will abide. And as I rest I will forever find You fully working, for it is faith alone that saved me and that works in me your works, and never mine.

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV — But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 4:10 NKJV — For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

Matthew 11:28 NKJV — “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
