Journals of abiding (3)

Abiding in Christ

God, I am unable to do anything of eternal value in my own strength. My best efforts are like a dirty rag compared to your righteousness. When I try to be like you in my own strength, I always fail. I will never be able to live in the fruit of the Spirit unless I abide in You. I look constantly to you as my source of strength and everything pure and good. When I am always close to you in thought and spirit, you guide me so beautifully on the right paths, making me truly holy because it is your holiness and not mine. You are my soul’s trust and my surest foundation. You are the source of my soul’s nourishment and empowering. In You is true and lasting abundance. I come humbly before you today, fully acknowledging my inability and placing my entire trust in your power and not my feeble attempts. Thank you for making a way for me in Christ to rise up to the standard of your call.

John 15:4-5 NKJV — “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
