Abiding in love

God, Your love is always available for me. It is ever patient and kind and it is always willing to flow through me to the world around me. My tendency is to lean towards the opposite- impatience and unkindness. You teach me to look at others through Your eyes of love and to show love even to the most unlovable. You teach me to look beyond the faults in people by making their shortcomings my prayers for them. Your love gives me such hope! When I choose to love instead of to demand my own rights or to be resentful, I abide in You and You are truly able to flow through me. It’s Your love loving through me and not mine. Without You- I couldn’t even love myself but You have shown me so much love!!! Your heart towards me is pure love and Your every intention flows from your tender consideration of me. You have shown me what love really is by giving Your Most Precious Son to die for my sins when I was at my worst. Your love is what changes me and I believe You can change the world around me through Your love. I never have to be afraid that Your love will run out because love never fails! I have found everything I will ever need or dream of in Your love for me…

Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends].
