Abiding in sincerity
God, you want me to be completely sincere with You. You know me and yet You require honesty on my part in my relationship with You. I realize just how much I lose when I allow any kind of impurity to come between me and You. The smallest compromise has the potential of setting me completely off course in my walk with You. That’s why I want to tell You about the darkest, most hidden corners of my heart with the full expectation that You will guide me into the light of Your truth. I know that Christ alone is my purity but You ask me to remain pure by continuing to allow the Holy Spirit to lead me in all that is right. You make me aware just how sensitive I need to be and of the degree of sincerity You require from me in order for me to be able to experience You fully. I cannot afford to not keep a close watch over my thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions. When I listen carefully to Your whisper in my heart and follow Its leading, You empower me to walk in purity and truth. You don’t expect me to find perfection within myself but to be honest about my imperfection and to allow You to be perfect in me. There is a great cost, I know, as I look away from myself and the forcefulness of my flesh and die to my desires by embracing Your heart. Even if I have to come to You again and again during a day to tell you about anything that hinders my relationship with You, I will do it! I will no longer try to impress You with my ability to walk in purity because it always leads to failure but I will look to You as my true source of light and truth. The more I will walk in sincerity towards You in all things, the more I will be able to abide in You.
